Believe it or not, I haven’t officially put the blog on ‘vacation’ in the 2+ years I’ve been writing. Tomorrow I’m leaving on a road trip, followed by a plane trip the next week. I probably won’t be posting until at least early next week on July 25th.
On the road trip we’ll be driving long distance with a two year old, so we’ll be taking it slow and not driving too far each day. I’ll be using up the extra time each day on my bike. I’ve been training solely with intensity the last month, so I’m going to take the time on the road for a solo ‘training camp’ at lower intensity. The flat, lonely roads of Middle of Nowhere, Wyoming should be perfect for re-building my endurance base.
I’ll leave you with my promised photo from the State Criterium. I am riding at the front just before launching my last lap flyer. Even though next week I’ll be alone, pedaling endless miles of boring terrain at an easy pace, I’ll be keeping the intensity of this photo in the back of my mind.
